Due to Saskatoon bylaws that restrict boarding animals in personal homes, we instead offer to have a sitter stay in your home with you pet(s). Your pet stays in a place they are most comfortable, and you have peace of mind that your home is also being watched.
Sitters schedules vary sitter to sitter and day to day. Some have jobs, school, or do walks & check-ins for us. During the booking process we ask questions to find out what level of care your pet needs, and match it to the sitter with the appropriate schedule.
We do not offer 24/7 care as this goes against labor standards laws. We would instead try to work with you to come up with a schedule that makes sense for your dog and allows us to do the things we need to do with our days.
We can walk a maximum of 4 dogs at a time, as per Saskatoon bylaws. But every walk is one-on-one - we never mix dogs from different households. Unless the dogs are known to each other AND we have discussed it with you ahead of time.
We will take dogs to private, fully fenced dog parks. But for liability reasons, we do not take dogs to public or unfenced dog parks. Dogs are unpredictable and there is too much risk and potential for injury for us to confidently take your dog into those situations.
We are more than happy to book you in randomly and as needed! Much of our work is booked on a recurring schedule, so fitting in as-needed walks can sometimes be difficult. So we recommend giving us as much notice as possible. But we will do our best to accommodate!
As far as possible! I always recommend people book as soon as they know they need service. There is no magic buffer that will guarantee our availability. So best to plan ahead and plan early. We really hate saying no to people 😉
A training consult is a single, longer session that is meant to cover all aspects of desired training. We look at everything - home behavior, your behavior, social behavior, and have a practical walking/skills portion - then provide our feedback on how it is all connected and how you can best support your dogs training. If you are comfortable taking on the majority of the training work, this is for you.
The training walks go straight to the practical walking section. This is a directly hands-on approach to tackling leash skills, manners, reactivity, and everything outside. You can be there with us or we can handle the walks alone. If you are short on time, or want us to do most of the heavy lifting, this option is for you. We will still provide training recaps so you know what's working, what's not, and what you need to do to keep things going.
We guarantee that we will treat you & your pets with respect, and that we will provide safe and ethical training and suggestions. We will never guarantee training outcomes because that isn't realistic. Training requires a lot of time, effort, consistency, and accountability that is mostly on you, as the primary care provider. So we will be honest in our assessments as to what we believe is happening, how we feel it's best to achieve the end goals, and what you need to do to support those goals.
